Venue

Gdańsk is one of the most beautiful cities of Poland. It has a turbulent, 1000-year long history between Poland and Germany, with significant Dutch, French and Scotch influences. It is the place where World War II began in 1939 and where the Solidarity anti-communist movement was born in 1980. Thus the center of Gdańsk is rich in historical monuments, while further attractions can be found in the neighboring cities of Sopot and Gdynia, which together with Gdańsk form the Tri-city agglomeration.
 
                       

The venue of the conference is Mercure Gdańsk Stare Miasto hotel. This 4-star hotel is located just a few steps away from the main highlights of Gdańsk: the magnificent Old Town with the Town Hall, St. Mary's cathedral and medieval Crane at Motława river, European Solidarity Center, witnessing the transformation from communism to democracy in Eastern Europe, and the recently opened World War II museum.
The hotel has 281 comfortable rooms of various types. As one of the highest buildings in Gdansk downtown, it offers picturesque views over the Old Town and the famous Gdansk Shipyard.
It is also located close to the main railway and bus station and provides its guests with an airport shuttle service.

Accommodation

The conference fee does not include accommodation. Participants are kindly requested to book their rooms on individual basis.

The Mercure Gdańsk Stare Miasto hotel (4-star), which is the venue of the conference, is offering participants of the Salt Water Intrusion Meeting a special guest room rate. The price is guaranteed not to exceed 350 PLN (≈82 €) for a single room and 390 PLN (≈92 €) for a double room. This price is valid for reservations made by April 15, 2018. When booking early you can benefit from even lower prices on booking.com or accorhotels.com. Note also that the availability of rooms in high season is limited.
